Sorry for my italian language, but I mistook mailing list, I wonted send that mail to italian list. My problem happen when, after the opensuse 10.2 installation, I restart my APPLE G4 Double Processor ( graphic card ATI Radeon 9000, monitor Apple Studio Display whit digital connector), the system go but the monitor becomes black. In the configuration of the installation I have try to change the monitor and the graphic card specification but the result is always the same black screen. Thanks

Non so' cosa consigliarti sei non mi dici che cosa hai scelto come configurazione del monitor in fase di setup, hai scelto un LCD ?, prova con una risoluzione o un refresh piu' basso! Per favore, usa l'inglese la prossima volta. Ciao Davide

Please boot into runlevel 3, to edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. It contains a section "Monitor". Remove the following lines from it, the Xserver will find the right values via DDC: DisplaySize HorizSync ModelName VendorName VertRefresh In the Section "Modes", remove or disable all 'Modeline' lines, the Xserver will find the right values via DDC. In the Section "Screen", set DefaultDepth to 16 or 24. In the same section, make sure you have at least a subsection like this: SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection The "1024x768" is an example, add the prefered resolution your monitor provides. Once you have saved the file, run 'init 5' to switch to graphical mode.
