RE: [suse-ppc] Simple Linux for PPC

YDL is NOT SuSE. I am very happy to see support return for the PPC platform. I had v7.0 installed on my PowerMac 7500, and so far it as been the best of all the PPC distros I have tried. Mandravia, YDL, Gentoo, etc, are, IMHO, no where near as good as SuSE. I've used SuSE since v5.3 on the x86, and it is still the best out of all the distros, IMHO. Anyway, has anyone had any sucess getting this Beta3 to run on oldworld macs? I have tried, but I get a kernel panic for some reason. I can post a detail if needed, but I think it has to do with the fact that I don't have BootX configured properly. Does anyone have a Step-by-Step guide for this? If not, I will post one when I figure it out. Thanx. __________________________________________________________________ Switch to Netscape Internet Service. I tried it on a 7200 and Performa 6400. There is some short docu at http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/PPC:Boot_pmac_oldworld Maybe you just picked the wrong initrd.

Maybe this is why the person mentioned yellowdoglinux? ;) -- Thanks, George "INTEL INSIDE" It's not a marketing gimmick, it's a warning label.
