for anyone who's interested :) I tried installing Mozilla from CD again (erased previous rpm then rpm --installed the new one) and realized that the reason i tried the one off of the ftp site is not because i had the debug problem, but because i ran into a seg fault while running the mozilla installed from CD (as both root and normal user). Since neither the FTP or CDROM versions worked for me, I ended up installing the LinuxPPC version from rpmfind.net and that worked perfectly. I still get input thrown to the console, but not nearly as much as the one that appears to be in debug mode. Thanks for all your input, Chrissy
