Again another nasty bug in current kernels turns my B&W G3 almost useless. With suseppc-kernel-2.4.16-55 a few hours after booting I get sudden paket loss when pinging another host and bad typing delays in telnet sessions. PING galileo.biochem.mpg.de (141.61.4.37) from 141.61.4.59 : 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from galileo.biochem.mpg.de (141.61.4.37): icmp_seq=4 ttl=128 time=463 usec 64 bytes from galileo... icmp_seq=5 ttl=128 time=453 usec 64 bytes from galileo... icmp_seq=6 ttl=128 time=475 usec 64 bytes from galileo... icmp_seq=2 ttl=128 time=4.131 sec 64 bytes from galileo... icmp_seq=3 ttl=128 time=3.131 sec 64 bytes from galileo... icmp_seq=7 ttl=128 time=453 usec 64 bytes from galileo... icmp_seq=8 ttl=128 time=479 usec --- galileo.biochem.mpg.de ping statistics --- 8 packets transmitted, 7 received, 12% loss, time 11150ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.453/1037.844/4131.281/1661.872 ms, pipe 5 The paket loss increases after few hours to 55%. Last known working kernel is kernel-2.4.7-pre3. Any clues? Thanks in advance. Grüßli, Micha
