Hello List!
I have searched the archives but haven't found a solution for my problem, so
I turn to you.
I am trying to install SuSE 7.3 for PPC on my Gravis TT (similar to Umax
Pulsar or S900). A 7.0 version of suse worked before, but I don't have the
cds anymore, so i tried an ftp install of 7.3.
Unfortunately i get an error when I start BootX using the oldworld-install
kernel. At the hardware detection the install stops.
scsi.2: ioctl
Do I need to add any commandos for the kernel to skip something? I am somewhat lost here, so if you have any idea how I can get bootx to get me any further please let me know. Thanks, Stephan

It may help to pass hwinfo=-all as a kernel parameter.

Nonsense, it is: hwprobe=-all Sorry for the confusion!
as a kernel parameter.

hwprobe=-all Well, I was a little fast with my last reply. Hwprobe=all does not help anymore. It worked once, I tried to install but it failed because the ftp connection was lost during install, then I tried to start suse again using bootx and the hwprobe, but now it hangs at exactly the same hardware scan.
Is this the way it should be? Any help is greatly appreciated at this point now. Stephan

hwprobe=-all ^ not the - You can also try this newer kernel: ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/kernel/2.4.16/miboot.install.image Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
