SLES 8 runs fine on a G3(B&W). If I get some spare G4 hardware over here I
will give it a try.
Right now the only problem I have on the G3 is that there are some missing ppc
(32 bit) binaries on the SuSE update server (syslogd and postgresql-server).
The patch discriptions are there, which means it trys to do the update, but
there are no binaries, so the update fails. I reported this to SuSE at the
end of last week, and I think they are working on it. This problem shouldn't
be unique to the G3s. It should be failing on 32bit IBM hardware as well.

SuSE doesnt support the Apple PowerMacs anymore except
with SuSE Linux 7.3
PowerPC edition. If he got SLES set up on a PowerMac G4 can you tell him
to write up a howto, because I for one would like to be able to get that
done, I have 2 G4s sitting here collecting dust.
