You need a newer kernel. Download this file: ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/kernel/BETA/deflt/vmlinux.initrd.elf-pmac

rename it to "install" and copy it to the root of your 32mb boot partition. Then go to OpenFirmware with command+option+o+f and type

boot hd:9,install video=ofonly

The 9 is the partition number, that may vary in your setup.

How long I have to wait for PPC7.3 SuSE and will 7.3 boot and install on my mac?

okay, this works :-) i see the blue yast screen - but next error is: i can't start YaST1 (after loading datas into ramdisk a red window appears "Die Installation wurde nicht ordnungsgemäß abgeschlossen!) on YaST2 : fallback to the text backend of YaST2: modprobe: modprobe: Can't open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.12/modules.dep (No such file or directory) is there an ftp mirror from where i can try to install? any other ideas? grüße v. ben
