Re: [suse-ppc] v10.0 Release problems(more) & v10.1/Alpha 3 problems

Check your /etc/fstab to be sure there aren't more than is necessary entries there. I have a DVD and a DVDRAM drive installed and only those two are listed in my fstab. I thought I might need the CDROM and CDrecorder also at one point, but it's unnecessary as the system seems to take care of it. Also, make a check in /media to see if you only have directories for the device/s you have. Well, I just looked at mine and do have all 4 there.
cdrecorder cdrom dvd dvdram
Will do. However, keep in mind that I am using Old World machines, and some of the problems could be caused by the buggy Open Firmware of these machines. There are some patches over at NetBSD for them, but I am still working through their info.
I also have all 4 in my /dev pointing to the appropriate /dev/hdx device. That seems to eliminate any problems for me. Several things have changed in 10, especially from 7.x! I'm real glad SuSE started up the PPC end of things too.
I had actually been trying to get a copy of v7.3 when I found out that v10 was going to reintroduce for desktop PPC(they've had it in their SLES insetad). It's definately a huge improvement over Yellow Dog(and considering I don't care for Red Hat/Fedora)..... ___________________________________________________ Try the New Netscape Mail Today!
