Dear all,
I'm wondering if would be an option to create DVD 12.1 unstable for PPC, when openSuSE 12.1 is released. As there is officially no up to date openSuSE PPC release anymore. Then newbie PPC users will be able to install it on their old mac.

download the NET ISO. boot it. report if it works.
I don't get it recognised as a bootable medium in my old iMac - is it me and my set-up or the image file?
FWIW: my normal method is holding ALT pressed after the boot chime, icons come up for anything in the system that is bootable. The HD has OSL 11.1 and OSX, those are shown but not the CD. Ejecting (with key E) and replacing with an 11.1 CD results in the latter being shown. I've tried 2 CD-Rs burnt on different machines as well as a CD-RW (which the iMac CD drive seems not to like).
There is no MD5 given, but I get d7187471a3fceb49b1a12625c04266fb - can anyone confirm this?
Richard
I should have said: the above was with Build0002. I've just seen that there's now Build0004 for me to try (but still no md5sum).
This image also doesn't give me a bootable CD on the iMac - either via OF or as described above. If I boot OSL 11.1 the CD is visible when in the drive, and looks sensible, but when I boot OS-X (10.3) the CD label is shown as FIX_ME* though again the contents are visible. Examining the iMac bootability of this image is beyond me but maybe someone on this list can advise? FWIW I get md5sum: e3ab96c657cb6bf92dadd4995ce68237 openSUSE-NET-ppc-Build0004-Media.iso * I think this was teh text, it's somothing on these lines - the machine is at work and I'm at home -- Cheers Richard (MQ) Linux user # 439271 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+owner@opensuse.org
