Sounds strange. Holding down [alt] at boottime show you all bootable
partitions on the disk. If you have MacOS on on of your partions it should
be possible to choose it.

Er, no it doesn't. Maybe that's on newer machines only.
Tell a bit more... what goes wrong when you try this book-method?

It just defaults straight through to YaBoot.
