Hi,

I'm trying for a month now, but with no success.

First I tried with a patch for Mandrake8.2 which was made by Peter
Osterlund when I asked for - Thanks :o)

Now I installed RedHat7.3 and used a 2.4.19-rc1-kernel from kernel.org
which was patched by me with packetcd-2.4.19-pre4-patch.

I compiled both kernels with packetcd and UDF (writing enabled) as
module.

Then I installed UDF-Tools 1.0.2b (./configure - make - make install).

Did a modprobe -v pktcdvd.

When I tried 'cdrwtool -d /dev/scd0 -q' (using IDE-SCSI, trying with a
CD-RW and a DVD-RW) I got the following message:

Trying mkuffs has the following result (independent wether pktsetup is
set or not) and doesn't create any DMESG:

Is 'sr0' right?


The writer is a PIONEER DVR-A03 (2x/1x/4 DVD-R/RW/ROM and 8x/4x/24
CD-R/RW/ROM)

Any hints? Did I do something wrong?
