[opensuse-packaging] New devel project proposal: storage
I'm currently cleaning up the home:hennevogel:TODO project and discussed with Hannes the following: Create: * storage:fcoe (and move network:fcoe to it) * storage:scsi - for userspace scsi stuff like scsi-eventd * storage:admin: could contain e.g. smartmontools Does the above make sense and should we create these devel projects? Does the above make sense and should we create these devel projects? This sounds like major overkill to me ;(

The project names are IMHO less important. More important is which packages do interact with which other packages. Means when two packages have influence to each other, they should get tested together and submitted together. if all of them are just leave packages, you could also merge it into one project... -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

IMHO the most important thing is that the devel projects should reflect the groups of people that work on the packages. It makes no sense to create projects nobody feels responsible for. Hmm; for the storage project I would take over maintainership. After all, it was upon my suggestion that AJ made the proposal. What about the following proposal: Projects storage:fcoe moved network:fcoe storage:testing containing bonnie, dt (currently in my home directory), fio (from project benchmark), blktrace etc storage:scsi containing scsi-eventd, sg3_utils etc storage:iscsi moved from drivers:iscsi Cheers, Hannes -- Dr. Hannes Reinecke zSeries & Storage hare@suse.de +49 911 74053 688 SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Then everything is easy. Do it like _you_ want :) Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. Everybody has a plan, until they get hit. - Mike Tyson -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
