Hi, I get the following strange build error from home:plater:branches:graphics blender :- |/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.4/../../../../lib64/crt1.o: In function `_start': /usr/src/packages/BUILD/glibc-2.10.1/csu/../sysdeps/x86_64/elf/start.S:109: undefined reference to `main' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I don't get this error when building on my 11.2 system, can anyone help?
You are lacking a `main' function. And you didn't quote enough context for a more useful answer.
Richard.
Sorry I should explain that the reason for my confusion is that none of the above files are part of the package, they are part of the installed system.
They are part of glibc and linked into every program. ld.so calls _start which is glibc-internal and wraps the programs main () function.
Richard.
Do you have any idea what I should look for that's missing in the package that gives this error, as I stated before it doesn't give this error with a local build only with osc and build service.
As I said the context you are giving is not enough to say anything besides what the error message already says.
Richard.
I'm not sure what other information to give but I have pasted the entire build log to http://pastebin.com/m584a4a46 in the hope that it can shed some light. I'm in the dark as to what error the programmer has made in this package that could cause such an error to occur on opensuse build service that doesn't occur with a local build. I don't see any obvious error that would be caused by the blender build. Philipp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

It builds on my system without that error (also fails on blenderplayer but with an error in actual package's file) using cmake but fails with scons, I need to learn about scons anyway so I will try and work out whats wrong using trial and error. I've disabled the building of blenderplayer for the time being and found lots of files have moved around between blender-2.49 and 2.50 so I'm concentrating on getting playerless blender building for now. I'll ask for help again if I get stuck. Thanks Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

The .changes mentions that building blenderplayer had been disabled somewhen, maybe it souldn't be built anymore and the cmake configury hasn't been adapted or other wayh round and scons hasnt been adapted? It was enabled when I took over the project but I didn't notice the changelog entry. I'll speak to the developers when I get to enabling it again but I would also like to understand where the error comes from, this version of blender uses python3.1 which may have something to do with it.
