Hello, I would like to rebuild SDL as a 32 bit library for use in SuSE 10 x86_64 (there is a patch that I need to apply to the sources, which is why I need to rebuild). I've tried the following, but the libraries will not be loaded by my desired application (after I've patched it): export CC="gcc -m32" export LD="ld -m elf64_i386" export AS="gcc -c -m32" export LDFLAGS="-L/usr/lib" linux32 ./autogen.sh linux32 ./configure --libdir=/usr/lib --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib && linux32 make The installed libraries will not load with my application, though the ones that shipped with SuSE linux work fine. Any insights into the build process here would be much appreciated. Thanks, -- Brandon Barker Phone: (859) 749-4634 Email: brandonbarker@ieee.org

elf_i386 here I think.

SUSE builds it in a 32bit environment. You could do it like this: linux32 bash --login and then perhaps use y2pmbuild to build the SDL RPM... (Just add your own patch.) Ciao, Marcus
Yes, logging in to a 32 bit environment did the trick.
Thanks so much!

# cd /where/your/SDL.spec/is # echo SDL > baselibs.conf # linux32 y2pmbuild --baselibs That should give you a SDL-32bit package that only contains the libs. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Development V_/_ http://www.suse.de/
