[opensuse-packaging] why debuginfo packages are disabled?

Hi. I noticed quite a few packages with disabled debuginfo in obs (namely libqt4-x11-debuginfo) Is this something temporal? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Where do you see that? A few packages are too large to be able to generate debug info, but libqt4 is not among them. Don't trust the display in the webui, it is currently broken. It doesn't properly take inheritance into account. Where can i see real status of debuginfo switch? I am still seeing it is disabled in the webui for this for example: https://build.opensuse.org/package/repositories/openSUSE:Factory/gtk2 And rpm is really missing, i get 404 error: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/13.2/standard/x86_64/lib... Say what? You check the debuginfo switch in openSUSE:Factory (where the webui is just broken; use osc meta prj for the project switches and osc meta pkg to see if there are local overrides... there shoulnd't be any) and expect to have this any influence on openSUSE 13.2? Debug info is split in own repositories on the released products... this to keep the actual repo smaller and offer them optionally to users. The debug repo for 13.2 is at: http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/13.2/repo/oss The file you're looking at is at: http://download.opensuse.org/debug/distribution/13.2/repo/oss/suse/x86_ 64/?P=*libgtk* Hope that helps, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Oh, thanks! I searched for debuginfo on software.opensuse.org: on the page https://software.opensuse.org/package/libgtk-2_0-0-debuginfo. there is a link to rpm, i posted above: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/13.2/standard/x86_64/lib... and it is broken. Is it a bug on https://software.opensuse.org ?

I'd say so, yes... it seems not to know the repo setup used for the actual base distributions... it assumes everything to be published in the repository configured (which sort of makes sense... except for the dist, which is handled slightly more complicated than a normel repo publish). Pelase file a bug for that issue.. hopefully somebody can find a solution that works generic enough.
