Seeking clarification on how submit official packages
Hi all, I am currently an active packager with Fedora Linux and I would like to familiarize myself and work on submitting and maintaining packages officially in openSUSE as well. I've been struggling a bit reading through the documentation to get started with doing more than simply using OBS for my own unofficial packages, e.g. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:fuller/cantera Is there anyone who could help me get started with the process and transitioning a first package to review for inclusion in the official repositories? (Falls hilfreich, ich kann auch Deutsch) Thanks, fuller -- Mark E. Would not be a broblem for me ;-) , but this is an english list. In general the process is not difficult: Once you are sure that your package builds (at least for Tumbleweed, Factory-first policy, but Leap should be considered as well) and you spec files is according to guidelines [1] - you may want to use spec-cleaner, but use it with care - you need to find an appropriate development repository. Your package needs to fit to the content of the repsoitory. For cantera, science may be appropriate. Submit to the devel repository first, the maintainers of the repo will review it and most likey come back to you with changes. Once it is accepted to the devel repo, submit it to factory. Once it is accepted in factory, you may submit it to a future Leap release. Hope that explains, let me know if you have questions Cheers Axel [1] https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_guidelines
