(yes, perhaps I'm naïve, but I still believe there will be System V init in SLE12).
Yes, you are being naive, currently, there is no way to make any future product to work without systemd without a massive effort that nobody here will do.
Well, you are definitely not the one to decide that so your opinion on this is not a bit more valuable than mine. Enterprise world is much less keen to fall for bells and whistles and much less accepting to the general "we break anything anytime and it's world's job to adapt" attitude of systemd people. So I guess, there is a chance.
As I plan to devote the Hackweek to such project, I would really appreciate if people didn't deliberately make the work harder at least in the cases when it actually doesn't help anyone.
You will be wasting your time.
Even if I did, it is my right to do so. And even if the only result is that it will make OpenSuSE usable for me for eight more months, it will be worth it.
Well, it's hard not to see this as pushing.
More than pushing, it is just an statement of fact, we are past the point of return by now.
Well, forgive me not taking words of hard core systemd fan on this matter as truth revealed. :-) But the point is different: I just wanted to remind a promise given less than half year ago which is now going to be broken.
