[opensuse-packaging] Emacs italics appear as underline instead

Hello, When I select text in a plain text file and try to make it italic (Edit → Text Properties → Face), it becomes underlined instead. When I start Emacs without site lisp (emacs -Q), I can italicize words in plain text files. [opensuse-packaging] samba 4 build fails due to shlib-policy-name-error

Hi, we get at the moment a badness of 10000 due to the old, legacy packaging of /%{_lib}/libnss_winbind.so.2 in the samba-client package for the network:samba:TESTING/samba project. We package the same in network:samba:STABLE/samba and there all works as it does since quite some time. From the log of 12.1 in TESTING: [ 1846s] samba-client.i586: E: shlib-policy-name-error (Badness: 10000) libnss_wins2 [ 1846s] Your package contains a single shared library but is not named after its [ 1846s] SONAME. In STABLE we see no Error at all. I'm posting this with intention to both, the packaging and buildservice list, as the arguments and reasoning might be of help to the other side too. I feel a bit uncomfortable to see RHEL and CentOS 6 builds in succeeded state while we have no good results for SUSE build targets. [opensuse-packaging] calligra-krita in KDE:UpdatedApps

In openSUSE 12.1 krita was packaged as koffice2-krita. In KDE:UpdatedApps the package name changed to calligra-krita. However nothing prevents the user from installing both packages at the same time. Doing so breaks the application as both packages install files with similar names to the same location. Can you please add the proper Obsoletes, Provides and/or Conflicts rpm tags to make sure koffice2-krita and calligra-krita can't be installed together? dkms.noarch: W: non-conffile-in-etc /etc/bash_completion.d/dkms A non-executable file in your package is being installed in /etc, but is not a configuration file. All non-executable files in /etc should be configuration files. Mark the file as %config in the spec file. Well, this file has no reason to be executable and it is in any case not a config file which is supposed to be edited by user. I see that at least one package installs completion under /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/; is it new place or package error? [opensuse-packaging] Packages looking for volunteers: festival, libgsasl

Hi, I'm looking for new maintainers for these two packages: devel:libraries:c_c++/libgsasl This is the GNU SASL library. It's used by a few packages, is alive upstream with a nice maintainer. I only touched this package because another packages I was working on was using it, and inherited from maintenance this way. But I really don't look at it, so I feel it could do with more love. hardware/festival This is a speech synthesis system. I'm not quite sure how much it's still used; it used to be a dependency for GNOME accessibility (which is why I somehow became maintainer, I guess), but it's not used there anymore. [opensuse-packaging] Package builds fine locally and fails on almost all targets on OBS

Hi, I just submitted a new version of the apache2-mod_pagespeed package to Apache:Modules [1]. Currently the build fails for all targets except for Apache_openSUSE_12.1 x86_64 . The error ( for instance Apache_openSUSE_12.1 i586 [2] ) points to a missing file - net/instaweb/http/http.proto: File not found. The file exists in the archive and I've double-checked that the build passes locally for me for both openSUSE_12.2 i586 and x86_64 . One peculiar thing about this package is that the tarball is quite large , 354M . Is that something which might trigger errors? If not, where should I start looking for the cause of the failure? [opensuse-packaging] Ruby is driving me nutty......

Hi, A quick recap, in https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=Cloud%3AOpenNebula I link to a bunch of ruby packages from d:l:r:e. Most of these failed and I finally got everything building again, by locally commenting out the rdoc BuildRequires. This IMHO should not be necessary and shows that we have some kind of issue with ruby packaging, but that's another discussion. With everything building I figured install should work as well, but it doesn't. When I try to install the opennebula package which through the dependency chain pull ins rubygem-sinatra I get the message: Nothing provides rubygem(1.9.1:rack) >= 1.3.6 needed by rubygem-sinatra I have linked rubygem-rack from d:l:r:e and thus rubygem-sinatra should depend on the rubygem-rack package from the openNebula repo. rubygem-rack built successfully. Therefore, adding Cloud:OpenNebula as a repo should be sufiicient, but it is not. The spec file for sinatra also does not have an explicit "Requires:..." for rubygem-rack for version 1.3.6 or greater. Clearly frustrated by all of this and hope I am not producing too much noise between the detailed data. Help is appreciated. [opensuse-packaging] How to supply a tgz instead of a tar.gz to obs (debian) ?
