[opensuse-packaging] Supplements package with a required version

Hello, I have package mozilla-xulrunner191, which can make use of package mozilla-xulrunner191-kde4, but only of a specific version. How do I express that using rpm dependencies? Currently the -kde4 package has "Supplements: packageand(mozilla-xulrunner191:kdebase4-workspace)" to be pulled in when both the main package and the KDE desktop are installed. I however don't know how to express the version dependency, since the -kde4 package does not care what the version of the main package is, but the main package has a version requirement on the -kde4 package, if it is installed. I cannot use Requires in the main package, since -kde4 is optional. If I use Recommends in the main package, I don't know how to recommend the -kde4 package only if KDE is also installed. Hi, the OBS never fails to surprise me: have choice for links needed by mono-tools: elinks links, have choice for PolicyKit-authentication-agent needed by gnome-mount: PolicyKit-kde PolicyKit-gnome Any idea how to deal with this? [opensuse-packaging] Heads up: Automatic cleanup of home:<id>:branches: projects

Hi, this is just a heads up, the OBS server is now doing an automatic cleanup, when submit requests got accepted, which target from home:$USER:branches: $PROJECT to $PROJECT. If it is the only package inside, it removes also the project. This means you do not have to cleanup your packages and project anymore, when you follow the usual workflow via: osc branch <project> <package> ... edit ... osc sr Of course nothing gets removed, if the request gets not accepted. The osc svn trunk version (which gets also build in openSUSE:Tools:Unstable project) has functionality which allows to influence this behaviour on creation of submit requests. Hi, linked devel:languages:perl-CGI-Simple to my project (home:computersalat:OpenXPKI) There it is showing: have choice for perl(HTTP::Request::Common): apache2-mod_perl perl-libwww-perl but in devel:languages:perl it builds just fine for the same dist. but for others it is complaining about: have choice for perl(IO::Scalar): otrs perl-IO-stringy Hmm? otrs is providing "perl(IO::Scalar)" ? How can it be that "apache2-mod_perl" is providing "perl(HTTP::Request::Common)" ? [opensuse-packaging] need maintainer of tv packages

Hi, In the place where I live (Prague, Czech republic), analog TV has been shut down recently. Therefore the following packages are in need of a maintainer that can properly test them: xawtv - upstream not very active (or distros not active in upstreaming stuff), Fedora, Debian and us have several patches, it might be a good idea to cooperate here. tv-fonts - zero maintenance zvbi - upstream active nxtvepg - upstream acrive - the technology is only used in some parts of Europe (Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and Turkey according to the package description). [opensuse-packaging] Power Outage in Nuernberg Office Sep. 12.-13.

From Sep 12 to Sep 13 we will have a power outage in the Nuernberg office. Downtime is planned from 2009-09-11 20:00 CEST (18:00 UTC) until 2009-09-14 10:00 CEST (08:00 UTC). So it might become a long weekend especially for developers - but we plan to avoid restrictions for endusers during this downtime. So far, the following services are definitively affected by this downtime: * Build Service * Mailing lists * ...and more Please have a look at the "downtime" wiki page to see the full list of affected hosts. Not affected: * <lang>.opensuse.org (all opensuse wikis) * forums.opensuse.org * irc.freenode.net/opensuse* channels * bugzilla.novell.com The discussion to host at least download.opensuse.org and static.opensuse.org somewhere else is work in progress. We plan no replacement for the other services as the downtime is not too large. We will try to reduce/disable building on build.opensuse.org on Thursday, so all mirrors should have "up-to date" packages over the weekend.
