Hi, I would like to remind everyone that Milestone 8 is planned for next week. This is the last beta we have, after that there is considerable few time till RC1 check in on October 9th. What worries me though that there are 133 project.diff for factory packages and I know only of very few cases where it's expected because we do not want to update the factory package now. So please, everyone check the projects you're in and review the diffs and submit. The check in deadline for most packages is again Friday, this week. [opensuse-packaging] kernel compile problems

Hello List, try to compile newer kernel on older maschine (suse 8.2/gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux)). installed is kernel 2.6.24.4 (made by hand from previous owner) New kernel is (allmost) unchanged source-rpm from buildservice 2.6.27.21 at first i got some compile error: LD .tmp_vmlinux1 ld:arch/x86/kernel/vmlinux.lds:439: parse error Line 439 ist this: ASSERT(kexec_control_code_size <= 2048, "kexec control code size is too big") Looks not unusual to me, but was only able to fix this by removing this line ;) Is there a better way? after that compiling was successful until kabi-checks in %install , there are a lot of symbols missing and max. badness is reached. how should this get fixed? or it is possible to ignore this by creating a file IGNORE-KABI-BADNESS in the kernel-source directory? from python buildlog: python-base.x86_64: W: no-binary The package should be of the noarch architecture because it doesn't contain any binaries. I'm reasonably sure that python-base actually does contain a number of binary files (/usr/bin/python, to name one). It seems like no-binary is now true in all packages. Hello, In my spec file I have to move and delete a directory. [opensuse-packaging] Adding man pages problem

I am trying to make an rpm of storeBackup and am unable to implement the man pages. Wat am I doing wrong? File I am trying to make into an rpm as the version on openSUSE is out of date (version on Factory is 1.9, real version is 3.2 see also http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=512990) I have based my sepecfile on the 2.x version.
