So Far.. This is Real Kool. Where would you suggest is the best place to add " /sbin/sysctl -w kernel.lowlatency=1 " to the boot sequence?

an easy way is to add /etc/sysctl.conf. just add a line
kernel.lowlatency=1
to this file. please refer to man sysctl and sysctl.conf for more details.

Thank You for all your help and hard work. I used: " rpm -ivh --force k_lowlat-2.4.18-0.i386.rpm " followed by: " mk_initrd " and: " lilo " then added: kernel.lowlatency=1 to /etc/sysctl.conf (had to make a new file) and everything seems to be working fine. I'll run some sound tests later. Let me know if there was (is) a better way or if I should re attempt this effort. Thanks again, Gary
