it's a local problem on my computer, kscd works on an other computer with simpler install... but what problem? jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.youtube.com/user/jdddodinorg http://jdd.blip.tv/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

work that is read a cd. It launches but say "no cd" when VLC or kaffeine play it
klaunching kscd in an xterm, I could see a gstreamer error. looking with yast, I notice gstreamer was not the pm version, so I changed to pm, but with no change according to kscd

It's a gstreamer backend related problem, the phonon-backend-xine works. Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

Dave P Sorry, you need phonon-backend-xine installed, there's also a vlc backend phonon-backend-vlc available from openSUSE, haven't tried it yet. Another phonon-backend-gstreamer-0_10 bug is it keeps on installing mp3 support but the next time you start it asks to install it again.
