Thank you very much! I post the whole reaction of the command, although i know, the relevant part may be at 21 (cause i don't know, if there are conflicts by the other devices). # hwinfo --storage_ctrl 01: None 00.0: 0102 Floppy disk controller [Created at floppy.111] Unique ID: rdCR.3wRL2_g4d2B Hardware Class: storage Model: "Floppy disk controller" 16: PCI 07.1: 0101 IDE interface [Created at pci.65] Unique ID: ESW+.0uC65bt_EM6 Hardware Class: storage Model: "Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] AMD-756 [Viper] IDE" Vendor: 1022 "Advanced Micro Devices [AMD]" Device: 7409 "AMD-756 [Viper] IDE" Revision: 0x03 I/O Ports: 0xf000-0xf00f (rw) I/O Ports: 0x1f0-0x1f7 (rw) I/O Port: 0x3f6 (rw) I/O Ports: 0x170-0x177 (rw) I/O Port: 0x376 (rw) IRQ: 14 (9348 events) IRQ: 15 (64 events) 21: PCI 0c.0: 0100 SCSI storage controller [Created at pci.65] Unique ID: lgGW.9k2XT8OsphE Hardware Class: storage Model: "Future Domain TMC-18C30 [36C70]" Vendor: 1036 "Future Domain Corp." [07-19-03 10:57]: i changed the card to an Adaptec Card AHA-2920 (96001-00 A) (the screen at the boot process tells me: Adaptec PCI) and now i have got two problems:
[snip ... whinedohs problem ...]
2. Under SuSE Linux 8.0 Yast2 tells me: there is no SCSI-Scanner and cdrecord -- scanbus shows no scsi-Card (it only shows the scsi - emulation of my dvd and cd- burner). On the left side Yast2 tells me at last: You have to install the scsi-Scanner manually.... and that i have to choose the scanner from the list ..... but there is no list with scanners or scsi-Cards....
This is at last the same message that i got while using the AdvanSys ABP 925. What have i to do, to install a scsi-card manually? (sorry, if it is maybe a stupid question, but i didn't find a manual to this problem).
As root run 'hwinfo --storage-ctrl' and post the results.
You should get something similar to:
