SCPM: Adding resource groups after profiles have been configured?
[I hope this is the right spot to ask. If not pointers are appreciated. :-)] Hello everybody, I've been using SCPM under SUSE 9.3 for quite a while and everything worked just nicely. Recently I tried to convince SCPM to additionally manage a new service in already existing profiles. Adding and configuring the resource group was no problem using YaST and 'scpm list_groups -a' also gave the correct output. But neither the existing profiles nor newly created profiles manage the service. I.e. "scpm switch" doesn't affect it at all. So my question is whether this is "by design", whether SCPM is misbehaving or whether I simply made a mistake. In either case I'd appreciate hints how to address the situation. Here's a bit of useful information: o Distribution: SUSE 9.3 o Service I'm trying to add: bluetooth --- snip --- # scpm db info SCPM version: 1.1 SCDB version: 1.3 SCDB format: xml formatversion: 1.0 # rpm -q scpm scpm-1.1-6 # scpm list_groups -a bluetooth bluetooth nis Network Information Service client mail Mail subsystem [...] # cat /var/lib/scpm/resource_groups/bluetooth description bluetooth service bluetooth inactive --- snap --- TIA -- Till -- Dipl.-Inform. Just found it myself. The service had to be activated. Simply adding it was not enough. Thanks -- Till -- Dipl.-Inform. Till Dörges PRESECURE (R) Researcher Consulting GmbH Phone: +49 (0)700 / PRESECURE td@pre-secure.de A daily view on Internet Attacks https://www.ecsirt.net/sensornet
