For Factory at least, since I didn't look elsewhere, packages on "download" are much newer than those on widehat.
e.g. download 15 March http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/kernel-desktop-3.8...
e.g. widehat 02 March http://widehat.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/kernel-desktop-3.7....
I forgot about the above when I tried to do an M1 install a while ago, so what I got was M0. :~( Is Widehat ever going to get sync'd? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." stop using mirrors directly maybe. :) if you do that mirrorbrain cant save you from outdated mirrors.

Mirrorbrain has a poor performance record for my extreme southeast USA (FL peninsula) location. I can't count all the times the zypper screen seemed frozen downloading oxygen-icon-theme-scalable or plasma-theme-oxygen, both of which seem to change every time anything whatsoever and however KDE-related gets built. Widehat has provided consistently acceptable speed, and is the only USA workaround I ever remember (working without X; for Factory, since us.kernel.org omits factory-snapshot) to avoid getting stuck on a minimal speed mirror. I once figured out which mirror I was stuck creepy-crawly slow on, redirected its IP in hosts to 0.0.0.0, and whatever fetcher zypper was using totally shut down, unable to find anything, even after multiple restarts.

Is Widehat different from other mirrors, or Factory different from releases, WRT mirroring? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
