Hi all,
It might be worth exploring packaging of this LGPL application. The GNUmed team would be highly interested in this (I will do some usability tests)
as it is the only application (I know of) on all operating systems (important for us) which supports viewing fluouroscopy and echo studies.
Here is the list of dependecies
WxWidgets: MultiPlatform Graphical User Interface (GUI). VTK: Kitware's Visualization ToolKit. ITK: Kitware's Insight Segmentation and Registration Toolkit. DCMTK: Offis' DICOM ToolKit. OpenSSL: Open Source SSL/TLS Framework . SQLite: The in-process SQL DataBase Engine.
Ginkgo developers are actively working on making packaging easier. Since I take it most of you are not following its progress here are some facts. Ginkgo 2.4.1 has been released. It uses a new cmake build system It compiles without the previously needed patches to other upstream projects It is regarded as highly valuable by all physicians I talked to. Any packaging effort would be appreciated. Here are some relevant bits to get you started: Quote: We were able to build Ginkgo CADx against Debian unstable without library patches or custom builds. Now, all our custom flags are disabled by default, so for standar distribution builds, procedure should be: cd ginkgocadx-x.y.z mkdir build cd build cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr make sudo make install To do this, some minor fixes are done (CMakeFiles make ups and errors cause code overwrites while merging) , so you should use the new source distribution I have just released at sf: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ginkgocadx/files/2.4.1.0/ginkgocadx-2.4.1.1... Quote end: Quoting upstream: We plan to make wxWidgets patches as soon as possible. We will keep using ITK ones so they are critical for production on our customer's environment. (But we won't force to use them). In the 2.4.0 source release, a compilation flag were included to skip all patches, so they are not strictly required to build Ginkgo CADx. IT could be enabled by passing -DUSE_PATCHED_LIBS:BOOL=FALSE to cmake. Other interesting flags are: USE_CUSTOM_WX "Build with custom WX library" USE_CUSTOM_VTK "Build with custom VTK library" USE_CUSTOM_ITK "Build with custom ITK library" USE_CUSTOM_DCMTK "Build with custom DCMTK library" Quote end: And if anyone feels like translating this software have a look at https://translations.launchpad.net/ginkgocadx Best regards, Sebastian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-medical+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-medical+help@opensuse.org
