[opensuse-marketing] Facebook
Guys, I want to take this time and say sorry for those who feel I was spamming the Facebook page. I wasn't trying too, just we have a lot of events coming up around the world. Since we have over 4,000+ members, that a good place to place the events. I just saw the note from Andrew Jorgensen, I feel bad, I was only trying to get the word about upcoming events so we can get openSUSE members to go out and support them, he is calling for people to leave the facebook page. Again, I wasn't trying to spam people, I just want to get the events out there so our members know them. Chuck "PUP" Payne -- ----------------------------------------- Discover it! Enjoy it! Please don't feel bad because one community member had a negative knee-jerk reaction. His note is inappropriate and he should have contacted you directly and raised his complaint privately rather than being destructive publicly. Being "open" doesn't necessarily mean that grievances need to be aired in that manner. So - future note, just space out event announcements a bit. Problem solved. I think you're doing a great job putting up events and really appreciate someone taking initiative. If there's room for improvement, it's only because you're *doing something* and that leaves room to improve what you're *doing* -- doing *nothing* draws no complaints because there's nothing to complain about.
Again, I wasn't trying to spam people, I just want to get the events out there so our members know them.
And I -- and I'm sure the majority of people in the community --
deeply appreciate it.
Thanks!
Zonker

Well i dont think its spamming and thanks to your contribution also. And if that method is not satisfactory then we always have the Event calender i guess that can be one of the best alternative :)

Just to break your feeling that you are alone I added some content :) We can make group lively place. I'm wondering where is the rest of openSUSE community hiding.

My "greatest dissatisfaction" is the fact that I live too far to join
in the many fine events you announced.
Thank you for the announcements. Whoever made negative comments has a
lot of growing up to do.
Cheers from sunny Malaysia....
