[opensuse-marketing] great little Firefox addon idea.

I was just sorting out a bookmark solution since Delicious is about to disappear, and found this listed as 'highly rated' A ready reference to the Ubuntu resources for the Italian community. What a little ripper of an idea! https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4684/ Would it be difficult to create something like this? cheers Helen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Let's ask Wolfgang Rosenauer, our Firefox expert. Btw. a fresh install of openSUSE gives you firefox with some openSUSE menus. We should review this list... Hi, I'm not subscribed to the list so it probably needs to be forwarded ;-) Am 22.12.2010 17:06, schrieb Andreas Jaeger:

It's not really difficult. Also given that this addon above can be used and changed as needed. Creating such an addon is not trivial for non-technical people though as it basically contains xml and js based "source code" for the user interface.

Those are the initial bookmarks and I agree that they should be reviewed before 11.4. Please also note that technically it's not possible to have language dependent bookmarks. Let's make a full-quote in case it's needed. Henne changed a couple of lists to allow mails without subscription - if opensuse-marketing is not changed that way, please tell us.

so, the addon might give us a language dependend solution? thanks, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE, aj@{novell.com,opensuse.org} Twitter: jaegerandi | Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I received Wolfi's reply via the ML, so it looks like Henne's changes did go through for the marketing ML. Bryen M Yunashko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Yes, but while it's possible to have localized UI within the addon all the languages need to use the same structure, number of entries and so on. It probably would be easier and more flexible to have one addon per language/community.
