[opensuse-marketing] OpenSUSE testing team
Some time ago I proposed the formation of a community-based testing team. The idea was discussed on the -project ML: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-project/2009-02/msg00092.html I reopen the discussion here as suggested during the project meeting we had on Jan 11th. Regards, A. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I'd join the testing if only KDE 4.2 would allow me to burn my freakin cd :) And yes i use KDE 3 version of K3b yet still can't burn (YES, i tried gnome version and they also fail). The hardware is fine as it works fine under Windows XP. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Out of topic, Did you refer to this problem ? http://vavai.net/2008/12/24/solved-k3b-problem-with-normal-user-on-opensuse-... http://vavai.net/2008/12/24/solved-k3b-could-not-burn-on-opensuse-111/ Did you try add your user name into disk group (Actually, it should be posted to the general opensuse list) -- Best Regards, Masim "Vavai" Sugianto /************************************************************/ Blog (ID) : http://www.vavai.com/blog Blog (EN) : http://www.vavai.net Community : http://www.opensuse.or.id /************************************************************/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Actually it's not that problem because it would bomb it out at the beginning. The problem is that K3b "borked" that DVD-RW. And it has problems with reading it at all. Anyway that problem you're mentioning has been already fixed and also i managed to write succesfully (only once). Normally it bombs out. Burning with root privileges does nothing and also with disk and cdrom group as this is not this problem. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
Hi Alberto,
On Wed, Mar 11, 2009 at 4:35 PM, Alberto Passalacqua
I reopen the discussion here as suggested during the project meeting we had on Jan 11th.
There might have been some misunderstanding - I recall asking you to
post the Geeko wants you idea here, but the testing team probably
belongs on opensuse-testing. Have you touched base with the existing
testing team? http://en.opensuse.org/Testing_Team
(Apologies in advance if any of my comments have already been
addressed in the previous thread -- I skimmed it, but haven't read
every email.)
But we can discuss here how to promote the idea. :-)
I'd like to see a bit more traffic on opensuse-testing, right now it's
a bit sparse.
Any chance you could post the slides on the wiki? We can start driving
the discussion a bit more if we can point people to the wiki.
Thanks for driving this!
Best,
Zonker
Thanks for

Yes. We are in touch. Sorry if I opened it here again, I thought the request was for both idea. Ignore it :-)
