Don't be sorry to ask. :-) Is this an installfest or a standard monthly/weekly meeting? If it's a standard meeting and you're not doing a presentation or anything -- i.e., the focus isn't openSUSE, and it's not a special event of any kind -- taking discs should be fine. Looking at the ALE site, it looks like it's going to be a standard meeting, so discs should be fine.
