I like the way it shows days left with geeko behind and nothing else. As you said it will trigger people's curiosity to know what is coming up. Maybe it is possible to mention openSUSE a few days before and version 11.4 the release day. What do you think ? Great work really but on Greek Edition there is a mistake. you wrote: 71 περισσότερες μέρες but the correct is Μόνο 71 μέρες ακόμη I translated at google and it does not make sense but in Greek it does,someone at Google messed those 2 words. Generally in Greek do not trust automatic translations... Can be done. The way it works, from a technical perspective is that I have SVG templates (one for each size, 400x400, 256x256, 130x130 and the wide one), and a Python script that assesses the current timestamp and how many days are left until the release. It then replaces placeholders in the SVGs and uses Inkscape to render them as PNGs in batch. Those PNGs are rendered once a day through a cron job and uploaded to counter.opensuse.org. So there is no problem to make another set of SVG templates that include a bit more information and which will be used automagically, e.g., one or two weeks before the release. Let's wait for two more days for other people comments about these ideas in different languages. Maybe someone can give us a lead over these issues without that much overhead but very effective campaign. I can translate it to Spanish but know not much about subtle interpretations in other 18 languages. And it needs keeping short and triggering phrases. For the Greek language if we end up somewhere please tell me and I'll make the translation and send you the texts, I believe anyone else from languages not so widely spoken (like Greek) should do the same, we are talking about 8-10 small phrases, you don't have to have a degree in the languages literature to do it ;-), what do you think about it? Which fonts are used for Japanese? 2 types of characters (Kanji: 登場! and 日 / Hiragana: いよいよ and あと) are used for Japanese, but font for each is different and doesn't look good. Would you please use IPAGothic or IPAPGothic font both for Kanji and Hiragana? In addition, JP is the country code for Japan and the language code for Japanese is JA, so the file names should be {large,medium,small}.ja.png. # JP and JA are often confused.
