[opensuse-marketing] Western Hemisphere Push
Hey folks, I think we've had a pretty good social-networking push today. In the first hour, I believe we had around 20,000 visitors to our servers. Marketing guys from other projects have personally sent me congratulations on the fantastic news coverage we're having today. A few minutes ago, I checked http://www.viralheat.com/social_trends/profile/6136/openSUSE and we have had 1,623 #openSUSE tweets, far surpassing the average of 210 #openSUSE tweets for the past week. And sweetness, we made the front page of Digg. Ya'll rock for rallying up the community to do their part. Social marketing at its best! But... we're not done yet. Right now it's only 4:30 p.m. in Chicago, and most of the fine upstanding European members of our community are just now hitting the sack and they deserve credit for a huge amount of this marketing push today. Those of us who are awake now and throughout the evening... we need to continue the momentum. We need to push the retweets even higher. We need to Digg, Digg, Digg, to keep us on the front page. Let's not become a vacuum in our own hemisphere. C'mon guys! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go! - Search for #openSUSE on Twitter and re-tweet or create your own tweet content. (and please don't forget to include the hashtag (#) ) - Check out the list of media articles on our wiki and tweet them - Digg http://news.opensuse.org/2009/11/12/opensuse-11-2-released/ Ask others to digg too. By the time we're ready to crash for the night, India and China and other Asian countries will be ready to be handed the baton and hopefully can continue our momentum for just a few more hours. Again, congrats guys. And kudos to Zonker for coming up with a great marketing plan for us. -- Bryen Yunashko openSUSE Board Member GNOME-A11y Team Member www.bryen.com (Personal Blog) www.planet-a11y.net (Feed aggregator of the Accessibility Community) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
