[opensuse-marketing] Junior Job Page
Moin, I updated/extended the "Junior Job" page [1] and like to get your feedback or your edits on the page. Purpose of the page is to give a low level entry point to people with basic technical knowledge interested in openSUSE. Therefor I'd like to give a short list of todo's and not a detailed one. Get rid of the workflow and make two pages. One for the people who are supposed to do them and one for the people who are supposed to offer them. Connect them with a simple [[openSUSE:Offer a junior job|Here is how you can offer a junior job!]] Explain the benefit for the project and what people can learn from doing a junior job a.k.a. what is in it for them. Add pictures. Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. Is it that specific to technical stuff? But OK, no problem :D

Great idea. I think I'd seen a page like this before, maybe the bug fixing one, when I was looking for something to help with. I'm not too keen on 'Junior' as it always makes me thinks of children or even toddlers! While I understand the intention it just reads very awkwardly. However the only fix I can think of is 'Newbie Jobs' but that's not great either. Thinking things like 'Fun Size/Bite Size' (you know like those small wrapped chocolate bars). How much technical knowledge is required to do the package updating and bug fixing? cheers Helen

We should define what is Junior Job. Very skilled developers can give complex tasks as a "junior jobs" and kill the purpose of that list. We can make use of this https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut when thinking about junior jobs. The Junior Jobs term doesn't sound funny if you think of it as antipode of senior jobs that can be done by people with "senior" in his position in company, like Senior Developer. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
