[opensuse-marketing] weekly news contribution
Hi all, I would like to get to know how to contribute to the translation to the weekly news. I could manage the translation into French, as it seems to be missing so far. Looking forward to contributing, Jean-Christophe _____________ SUSE Linux 2.6.27.7-9-default GNOME evolution 2.24.1.1 && Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Thank you for your welcoming ! It is surprising there haven't been any French translator yet ! I read your links and that sounds clear to me. I will do my best to attend to the IRC meeting, though I might be busy. My pseudo is "phocean". I am going to start translating soon and I hope to have done some significant work for saturday to get familiar with the process. I may be giving questions, if I have any trouble during the process... Le mercredi 18 février 2009 à 22:14 +0100, Sascha 'saigkill' Manns a écrit :

Hi Jean-Christophe! Your contribution is very welcome. Sascha replied already with this link: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News . There you can find the FAQ. Basically you've 2 to make some choices: 1) full or light version (see the full/light templates, example for light is e.g. chinese or hungarian) 2) template-only or translation-tool for translation The translation-tool is able to replace predefined strings (e.g. Announcements --> Annonces ) and can be configured with a simple text file. The URL of the french translation should be in the french wiki, e.g.: http://fr.opensuse.org/_$FOO_/$NR where _$FOO_ is "openSUSE_Weekly_News" translated to French and $NR the number of the issue. For the main newsletter its: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/59 There was another volunteer for French (CC'ed). @Laurent: do you have time to join forces with Jean-Christophe ? Once again, welcome to the team. Best, Jan-Simon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Jean-Christophe, a warm welcome also from my side. We urgently need a french translator for months and thus your contribution is much appreciated! Have fun, Rupert 2009/2/18 Jean-Christophe Baptiste <jc@phocean.net>:
