I am all too familiar with that working as a developer... I guess there will be some sort of announcement when it reaches beta?

I would say yes!

It is all about setting the right expectations. Both the alpha label and the general messaging have set expectations that this is new exciting stuff, but stability in terms of features and issues will be low for a while.

I am just happy that things are happening with the project even though I have not gotten around to actually contribute.

Right? I feel exactly the same!!

Hehe! :-D

Note, however, that there where unexpected issues with the changes
mentioned by Syds. Unfortunately, this is software, and in software,
bugs happen. :-P

AFAIK, they're being looked at and will hopefully be fixed soon.

With all those changes, it would be good to start fresh indeed. It's

With all the new changes --when working-- we're be in BETA, which
hopefully will be more "stable", in terms of fundamental architectural
changes requiring reinstall not happening (but never say never! :-P)

Anyway, I definitely suggest to wait until the bugs are gone, before
reinstalling.
