[opensuse-kernel] Kernel:openSUSE-42.1' 4.1.19-1.1.gba8f37b: xfs problems & kernel panic
Hello! After update from kernel-default-4.1.18-11.1.gedb06fb to 4.1.19-1.1.gba8f37b from Kernel:openSUSE-42.1 I got xfs I/O errors (may not be kernel problems) and kernel panic at shutdown 2 times. There is no changes regarding xfs between 4.1.18 and 4.1.19. So if any, it must be something else. Please confirm that the panic happens only with 4.1.19 kernel, and not with 4.1.18 kernel, by testing two kernels again on the same system. If you confirm that it's a kernel regression, please open a bugzilla report. thanks, Takashi

Yep, it is strange but I switched back to 4.1.18 and don't have problems
any more. Today I installed 4.1.19 again and tested it. I/O was OK but
kernel panic was reproduced.

FWIW I've seen at least one of the two crashes myself too on Friday. Jan

Is your case also with XFS? So far, I have no idea what went wrong, so any interesting point you noticed would be helpful. thanks, Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Well, both systems I saw anomalies on have some XFS volumes, but it wasn't obvious whether there was a connection. Sadly I didn't have the time to look into this in any detail.
