Kernel:Stable follows upstream fairly closely. E.g., I'm currently using 4.12.0, rev gae25ff8; working fine here with 42.2 & 42.3/prerelease (well, not for Xen Dom0 -- but that's a different issue ...)
Is there something specific you're looking for that that repo's builds don't provide?
No. I myself use Kernel:Stable when necessary. But may be an average user can find easyer to have that latest kernel available in the main repo.

With the tons of backport in terms of drivers that are present in 4.4 series in 42.3 I would first check if it's not included first. 42.3 is almost ready for production use.
