[kernel 2.6.30-rc3-13-vanilla from factory on top of 11.1] As Greg has mentioned on another list, combining a recent factoryk ernel with 11.1 works just fine. However, there are some issues: . With my 945GM intel graphics card, I don't get TTYs which I could switch to with Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F1, for example. Only F7 to switch back to graphics mode works fine. In particular, I don't see any boot messages at start-up. This has worked fine with a previous kernel like 2.6.27.21. Are there new boot parameters to add or is this a bug? It seems that `vga=0x31a' fails (which yast provides) since without it I can see boot messages. BTW, for `vga=0x31a' I get Console: colour dummy device 80x25 in the log file, while without this parameter I get Console: colour VGA+ 80x25 . There's a typo in a boot message: could not finy any ACPI SRAT memory areas. ^ . What do these messages mean? Driver 'sd' needs updating - please use bus_type methods Driver 'sr' needs updating - please use bus_type methods Something I should take care of? . Ditto for this message: Warning! ehci_hcd should always be loaded before \ uhci_hcd and ohci_hcd, not after . I see that the above RPM comes with a lot of firmware files. Interestingly, the file iwlwifi-3945-2.ucode is missing. Is this intentional? I assume that there are copyright and/or license issues... . After updating the microcode, iwl3945 works, but only a few minutes. Then I get wlan0: no probe response from AP 00:0f:b5:7b:1c:c6 - disassociating What's that? Why does iwl3945 now behaves differently compared to 2.6.27.21?
