Back in January there was a talk on this mailing list about adding a new kernel flavor to follow upstream (https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kernel/2017-01/msg00040.html) A quick look at the upcoming release packages, shows me that such kernel is not there. I personally would appreciate such kernel very much because I have 4 different kind of devices for which kernel 4.4 has problems but newer kernel fixed the issue. Is there still some hope to see such kernel flavor in 42.3?
Kernel:Stable follows upstream fairly closely. E.g., I'm currently using 4.12.0, rev gae25ff8; working fine here with 42.2 & 42.3/prerelease (well, not for Xen Dom0 -- but that's a different issue ...)
Is there something specific you're looking for that that repo's builds don't provide?
No. I myself use Kernel:Stable when necessary. But may be an average user can find easyer to have that latest kernel available in the main repo. Giacomo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
