Both messages are printed using cifs_dbg(VFS, ""). The VFS parameter causes that they are actually printed as pr_err("") and are always logged.
Well, it seems that all cifs_dbg() messages are printed only when CONFIG_CIFS_DEBUG build option is enabled. We have it enabled even in kernel-default.
Do you have a chance to use custom build with this config option disabled?
Only if someone else provides the rpm(s) required.
