It's also no issue to match the running kenels uname '2.g006adcb' to a package with release '2.1.g006adcb' or '2.g006adcb.1', because the kernel packages provide the uname-release. Nice.
[...] BUT those packages may have a differnt build count. This is not a versioncmp action. It's a kind of query. The version-release strings are always magic to me. Is the build count somehow relevant for the purge-kernels? I mean can't all packages be sorted with the versioncmp relation and pick the ones matching multiversion.kernels specification (exact match, (relative) chronological, (relative) kernel-uname-r match) from this sequence?
But the core is that we will not assume any other position than the end for the buildcounter. Can the build counter be abstracted away completely (by the versioncmp relation)?
