It seems that quite a few ASUS monitors are badly detected by amdgpu driver, e.g. the upstream report https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201497 My wild guess is that some unstable I2C transfer for DDC, and we might see what data got corrupted when comparing between good and bad read EDID values. But it's definitely device-specific, and hard to debug by others than the hardware owner.
