--- Comment #10 from Felix Miata (offline until ???) mrmazda@earthlink.net --- With fbdev explicitly configured, nothing else in xorg.con*, and nothing about video on kernel cmdline, both vttys and Xorg come up in 640x480 mode using less than 1/4 of the 1680x1050 native display.

With video=1680x1050 on cmdline and fbdev explicitly configured, Xorg runs in 1680x1050. Vttys appear that they do 1680x1050 also. Using 'Option "PreferredMode" "1680x1050"' without video=1680x1050 on cmdline also runs all video @640x480 in small upper left screen portion.
