I just finished resurrecting the comment #0 host and upgrading TW to 20201214, except now with an even older Radeon 7500 rv200. On it comment #0 is not currently reproducible with 5.7.11, 5.8.15 or 5.9.14 kernels. I've now shelved most of my G400s for lack of KMS support.
