Alright I added the
https://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.2/oss//openSUSE:Leap:15.2:Update.repo 
and switched versions of kernel-default via YAST - installed, then restart,
advanced options, switched to 

Kernel Version: 5.3.18-lp152.47-default

All other packages are still the same though...

The app does crash like before - so it's not the kernel?
