I'm fairly sure that the problem is caused by that 'revert' patch, and the further upstream fixes to sort out all the details cannot be backported to SLE. So I've submitted an update to simply drop that patch. It should appear in kernel-of-the-day (https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Kernel_of_the_day) in a day or two so it can be tested.
