grub.cfg and config-5.12.10-1-default
The kernel boot messages, the ones that you see scrolling by, during boot are
far far too small to read. This is only true on laptops with high resolution
screens. If you boot to runlevel 3 for example its near impossible to do
anything meaningful because you just can not read the screen.
There needs to be a setting to use a larger font on screens such as this (if
they can make the bios easily readable I'm sure it can be done in the kernel -
no?):
Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
Product Name: ZenBook UX535LI_UX535LI
Display Res: 3840x2160
kernel: (i tried several doesn't matter) l5.12.10-1-default
Intel and NVidia GPU's come standard
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation CometLake-H GT2 [UHD
Graphics] (rev 05)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation TU117M [GeForce GTX 1650
Ti Mobile] (rev a1)
NVidia driver 460.84
Intel: i915 (I guess)
Looking through grub.cfg i find;
set gfxmode=1280x1024
load_video
insmod gfxterm
set gfxpayload=keep
not all in this order or together, but i shall attach my grub.cfg and also
/boot/config-5.12.10-1-default
Is there any other info I can provide? I would even allow a kernel developer to
remote in to my laptop if it would help.
