Do you see any relevant kernel messages at hang?

Also, when you put on dock after login and keep on VT1 (i.e. without graphics
environment), does it happen similarly? And would the machine react over the
network if the hang happens? 

Currently there is no log to analyze, so it's really hard to judge what went
wrong.  I'm wondering whether it's a graphics issue.
