Thanks, Stephan. I think you are right, I did not take the good kernel, it must have been by my mistake. Having downloaded the one you point out, I am trying to install it via zypper again. Zypper complains again on missing internet connection, additionally it tells that "nothing provides 'kmod-zstd'. I have the option to break this dependency, but don't know if this is the wise way to proceed.
