Thanks for all the hard work.

As it turns out, the fan works normally. What I have a problem with is that as
soon as I start listening/streaming music, the system basically grinds to a
halt. Something in the firefox/chrome & web-content process makes the computer
use 500% CPU (I guess it's due to virtual cores?). 

Everything works much better, but this thing is an issue. Listening to music
makes my computer unusable.

Any idea how to troubleshoot?

Thanks, and above all else sorry if I can't pinpoint exactly what the problem
is.
